EUROSOLAR Press Release, Berlin/Bonn, November 29th, 2007
EUROSOLAR, the European Association for Renewable Energy and the KfW Bankengruppe award the European Solar Prizes 2007 on November 29th, 2007 in the Berlin office of the KfW Bankengruppe.
Detlef Leinberger, Member of the Executive Board of the KfW Bankengruppe, will open the Award Ceremony and welcome the laureates and guests of the European Solar Prize 2007. Dr. Hermann Scheer, MP, President EUROSOLAR and Winner of the Alternative Nobel Prize, will speak about the inspiring role of pioneers. The laureates will be presented by Prof. Dr. Dr. Udo E. Simonis, Social Science Research Center Berlin. Mrs. Irm Pontenagel, Managing Director EUROSOLAR, will moderate the event.
The laureates of the European Solar Prize 2007 are:

- Thisted Kommune / Denmark, for a municipal energy supply with Renewable Energies Category industrial, commercial or agricultural operations Producers of Renewable Energies
- SMA Technologie AG / Germany, for an innovative range of products for a solar energy supply
- Acciona Solar, S.A. / Spain, for “Huerta solar” model – make solar energy accessible to all parts of society
Farmers / agricultural operations
- Wolfgang Löser / Austria, for Austria´s first energy self-reliant farm
- ZEVO, spol.s.r.o. / Czech Republic, for the biggest biogas plant of Central Europe

- J. Schmalz GmbH / Germany, for an innovative plus energy company conception
