Journalist and producer Ilhami Arslan has been working with Turkish Radio Television Izmir (TRT) since 1977. For more than eighteen years he has been active for Radio 1, providing numerous reports on environmental protection and renewable energy.

Mr Arslan’s consistent goal is to heighten his audience’s awareness of a respectful relationship with nature and natural resources, to inform the public about environmental and energy issues and to portray the advantages of renewable energy supply. He highlights the renewable energy potential in his home country and compares the costs and environmental benefits of different courses of action. His approach to the subjects of environmental protection and renewable energy is a comprehensive one and he relates them to aspects of globalisation, climate change and also health. He is a very sought-after expert for conferences and panel discussions.

Mr Arslan’s broadcasts feature vivid, practical examples and environmentalists and renewable energy experts have their say too. Counting among his guests are distinguished scientists as well as representatives of well-known environmental non-governmental organisations and institutes.

Through his many productions under the motto “Clean energy for a clean environment“ Ilhami Arslan has made a significant contribution to the rising public awareness of environmental protection in Turkey.
