INFORSEINFORSE, the International Network for Sustainable Energy, is a global network of independent non-governmental organizations working for sustainable energy solutions to protect the environment and reduce poverty.

The Network was established in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 to secure following up the political decisions at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED). Today more than 160 NGOs are members of INFORSE. The network is organized by region. The Secretariat is headquartered in Denmark at INFORSE-Europe.

INFORSE follows and influences sustainable energy issues in international negotiations. As observer, INFORSE has been involved, among other things, in the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in 2002 and the COP 15 in Copenhagen in 2009.

Its quarterly newsletter "Sustainable Energy News" has been published since 1993. INFORSE assists its members in defining and realising national and regional visions as well as strategies for making the transition to renewable energy systems. INFORSE-Europe reviews EU energy and climate policies, as well as comments on relevant parts thereof, based on inputs from its members.

INFORSE has pursued the ambitious goal of making the global transition to renewable energy from the very beginning. High membership testifies to INFORSE's excellent contribution as a network in the field of renewable energy.
