 Launched in 1997, the „Solarserver“ has developed from being one of Germany’s „best-kept secrets” to being an international online portal for photovoltaics, solar heating and solar building.
The website has borne witness to the success of solar energy use from almost the beginning of its development in Germany. Initially, the online portal solarserver.de focused on the advances in solar technology and their political and economic framework conditions in Germany. Alongside editorial reports the site offers yellow pages, an events calendar, information on solar funding and useful tools and programmes to calculate the output to be expected of an individual solar power system for example.
The Solarserver steadily transformed into an international internet platform over the past years. In 2005 the English language website solarserver.com was launched. The number of users from Europe, America, Asia and India is growing fast and testifies to the importance of the online medium and to the successful internationalization of the Solarserver.
A global network of dedicated professionals is the foundation for the Solarserver’s authoritative and continually up to date reporting about changes in social and economic structures and developments in politics and technology. The Solarserver presents emerging trends, provides background information and delivers the latest breaking news thus giving extra insight into areas of the dynamically growing and complex solar energy industries.
