What is IRES?
The IRES is the International Renewable Energy Storage conference that has successfully been organized by EUROSOLAR - the European Association for Renewable Energy - for eleven years.

How do I get to the IRES by public transport/by car/by airplane?

Many ways lead to Düsseldorf! Which one is the right for you depends on your personal wishes and where you are coming from. Kindly note that the Energy Storage Europe 2017 will take place at the fair ground of Düsseldorf.
By plane: The Airport Düsseldorf (DUS) is located just three kilometers from the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center. You can reach our fairgrounds in a matter of minutes by taking the no. 896 bus or a taxi.
By train: From Düsseldorf Central Station, subway trains U78 and U79 will bring you to the Trade Fair and CCD Congress Center in about 20 minutes. You can use your admission ticket/ eTicket to ride with most of the public buses and trains at no charge.
By public transport: Both the U78 and U79 subway tram lines and the bus 722 will get you to the fairgrounds. The U78 line stops at the East and North Entrances, the U79 at the East Entrance, where you can switch to the U78 to continue to the North Entrance or Esprit Arena. At the "Messe Ost" stop, you can switch to the no. 722 bus, which gets you directly to the administration buildings as well as the South Entrance. The eticket entitles you to free travel to and from the exhibition grounds on the day of your visit, with all public transportation means of VRR in the price category D (DB/ German Railway 2nd class, supplement-free trains only).
By car: Your way to Messe Düsseldorf is clearly signed everywhere in the city. From the A44, follow the Messe Düsseldorf’s own access road to the Trade Fair Center’s large-scale car parks with 20,000 parking places. From here, free shuttle buses take you to all entrances and back within just a few minutes. Please note that there are environmental zones in Düsseldorf. Messe Düsseldorf itself as well as the signposted routes to the fair are outside the low emission zone.

What is the conference language?
The conference language is English. Simultaneous translation (GER-ENG, ENG-GER) will only be provided on the first conference day (14 March). All parallel sessions of the scientific IRES program (15 and 16 March) will be held in English. On 15 March a German series of presentations will complement the program.

I have submitted an abstracts for IRES, when will I receive the confirmation for my presentation?
The confirmations for presentations at the 12th International Renewable Energy Storage Conference (IRES 2017) will be sent out in the beginning of November 2017. Please understand that it is impossible to inform you about the status or suitability of your paper beforehand.
I am presenting my paper/poster at IRES, do I have to pay a registration fee?
Yes, all presenters at the IRES conference have to pay a nominal fee. This fee includes the entrance to the whole conference and allows the presenters to take part in the networking events. More information is provided in the Call for Abstracts as well as in individual e-mails sent to all presenters.
I am presenting my paper/poster at IRES, can I visit the exhibition?
Yes, all presenters at the IRES conference receive a free ticket to the exhibition and will have access to all sessions and the networking events on both evenings of the conference.
Where do I register?
Registration is not yet possible.
How much is an IRES ticket? Is it possible to attend only the IRES-sessions?
No, it is not possible to only attend IRES-Sessions. For an optimized visit and better networking of the participants, the organizers offer one conference ticket for the full event. Prices range from 550 EUR to 1,250 EUR (excl. VAT) and can be seen here
Is the visit of the exhibition for free?
The visit of the exhibition is included in all tickets. You do not have to pay extra.
Do I have to book accommodation myself?
Yes, you will have to book your accommodation yourself. However, if you want to use the booking form, please click here
to be connected to an online booking tool. Rooms for the conference-guests have been reserved in an contingent, so it is recommended to use this website
to reserve your hotel rooms. Due to Düsseldorf being a busy city, we also recommend to book your accommodation as soon as possible.
I am presenting my poster/paper at IRES and want to submit a final paper. How does this work?
Full papers may (but do not do have to) be submitted by presenting authors. The review process starts from 1 February onwards. Please make sure to submit your full paper until then. Further information will be send to the authors via email.
Do I need a template for my full paper?
Yes, you need a template. As a registered author, you will receive a template at a given time.
I registered for the conference, how and when will I receive my ticket?
Your name tag, which will serve as the entrance identification to the sessions and side events, will be ready to picked up at the check-in counter of the conference. We will not (!) send you your ticket via post.
