European Solar Prize 2018 is open for entries
Bonn, 19 February 2018. The European Solar Prize of EUROSOLAR e. V. enters the next round! From today on, applications and proposals in the field of renewable energy can be submitted in ten different categories. The call for entries is addressed to local actors of the energy transition, who point the way in the right direction by means of innovation and commitment. Cities/communities, architects, municipal and private companies, associations, organisations and cooperatives, journalists and of course citizens, who actively support the transition to renewables, can apply.
The Solar Prize is awarded in the following categories:
• Towns/municipalities, council districts, public utilities
• Solar architecture and urban planningIndustrial and commercial companies or farmers
• Local or regional associations/organizations
• Owners or operators of renewable energy installations
• Transport and mobility
• Education and vocational training
• One world cooperation
• Special achievement prize for individual commitment
The application period runs until 31 May 2018. All entries will be submitted to a qualified jury. Participation is free of charge. Applications can be submitted quickly and easily online. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of EUROSOLAR, this year's prize winners will be honoured in the EUROSOLAR home town of Bonn. The award ceremony takes place on Saturday, 17 November 2018, at Kunstmuseum Bonn.
About the European Solar Prize
The European Solar Prize was established in 1994 by EUROSOLAR in cooperation with its national sections. With the Solar Prize, EUROSOLAR recognizes outstanding and innovative projects and initiatives in the field of renewable energies from all parts of society. The prize is given to put pioneers and leaders in the focus of public awareness all over Europe and to give fresh impetus to a renewable energy-based and decentralised energy turnaround.
