„The European Solar Prize is an honour because it recognises that with grit, gumption & intrepid action, tomorrow’s energy-literacy ambassadors lead the way through the singular & transformative experience of learning-by-building”, states Louise Holloway, director of the Energy Endeavour Foundation. The foundation has won the European Solar Prize in 2018 for the organisation of the Solar Decathlon Europe – a far-reaching student competition to raise awareness in the field of innovative and resource-saving architecture.
The call for entries is addressed to cities and municipalities, architects, municipal and private companies, associations, organisations and cooperatives, journalists and committed people who actively support the energy transition with their projects and initiatives. The solar prizes are awarded in ten categories – from mobility solutions, solar architecture and urban development to projects in the fields of education, one-world cooperation and media.
This year, we have the special honour to welcome several members of the government of Luxembourg at the awards: Minister of Environment, Climate and Sustainable development Carole Dieschburg will welcome the guests and Minister of Energy Claude Turmes will give an overview of the energy transition in the Grand Duchy.
Applications and proposals can be submitted quickly and easily online until Thursday, 15 August 2019. All entries will be submitted to a qualified jury, which will decide on this year’s prize winners in September.
